DOCTOR MARIO

"For all the loyal fans of tetris-type addictiveness, here's a pleaser."

This game is old and added to the Mario-ness of the era (overkill!), albeit with a simple, new twist... colour codes! Oh, you can also choose the speed, screen starting virus level, and the type of music (one of the more delightful aspects of this game).

one_player Gameplay is based on a simple idea - stack the pills onto viruses of the same colour code. At three for a single virus (horizontal & vertical rows), or two for a multiple group of the same colour, you gain points as they are eliminated (all freed blocks drop to the highest level formed). You can gain extra area by focussing on the removal of other blocks; no points are normally awarded for this.

Three types of virus are targeted, and they dance at the side of the game. When you eliminate more than one of the inner occurences by letting dropped pieces complete more lines, you get extra point bonuses.
As usual, the greatest challenges of this game are securing the high scores and putting down the stick! Ummm... controller, that is. Play this when you have some time to kick back and you don't feel like slamming a three level super combo in SF EX2.
