A possible Metal Gear Solid Contender? Could it be , probably not, but is it still worth the Try? Definetly. Syphon Filter is a game almost exactly the same as Metal Gear Solid, same Game design with the overhead View. The Mission almost exact, to stop terrorists from attacking with bombs and Missiles. Both Games have people on some Microphone in their ear thing , that tells them instructions and what to do next, allot of the plot is discusted between them. But how can any game compare to Metal Gear? Syphon Filter definetly doesn't have a well done plot like Metal Gear, but it has lots of things to make up on that like the ability to Sniper guys of and have a choice of where you would like to shoot that Metal Gear didn't have. So what really makes Metal Gear Better? Read ahead....

Great Graphics, this game surely doesn't fall behind in this category. Lots of opportunities to pick guys off from a distance, Lots of fun using the sniper and picking guys off from a distance with silencers and other neat guns. The Game has good surroundings, like in the streets of Washington where you have to pick guys off who sit on the roof, you also get to play in areas like the Subway , The Washington Memorial Park where you have to disarm bombs. All the levels are filled with detailed objectives that fit the scene. One of the good things also is that this game is extremely fast at loading, takes 5 seconds or less. The FMV's are pretty good too, not as long as the Metal Gear Solid one's but that's good because you can get pretty bored watching a 10 minute movie. The Game also only takes 1 Memory Block. One of the things I liked best about Syphon Filter though was when you pressed L1 and a Enemy the computer would Auto - Aim at the enemy for a good shot, so you don't have to rush and aim in first person mode and get shot in the process. The neat thing also is that there is a Silencer on some Guns and you can shoot bad Guys right in the Head and still be unnoticed so the game continues at a easy pace.

This game has some of the worst voices I have ever heard. When Gabe talks to his case informers , their voices sound pathetic, you can even tell how poorly they were done when the characters talk instantly after the other stops, even if its a important decision making factor. You aren't able to save at any point of the game you like in Metal Gear Solid, you are only given the option to save every time you pass a level , that's can take up allot of time when you are get to a certain hard point of a game, and you die , you have to restart the mission.

Defenitly worth the try, It ain't as good as Metal Gear Solid but it sure does fill up the time waiting for the next Metal Gear. Really fun if you want to pick guys of with Snipers. Overall I think this is a great game and its definetly worth the try.
