- Basic Game Info -Ridge Racer was probably one of the First Games I remember when the Playstation came out. I think it was also the First racing game for the Playstation. Although it wasn't the greatest after Gran Turismo came out and most Car games that come out now don't compare to Gran Turismo I thought I would get this Game anyway since my friend had it and I thought it looked Really Good. The Game features a Massive Collection of 321 Cars. You Hear that you people who make Need For Speed ? There are 8 Tracks in R4 as well as 4 Teams and 4 Manufactures to choose from giving you a nice Lasting Appeal.- Highs -This is by Far the best Handling Driving Game I have ever seen. No Lame Spin outs like in some of the Test Drives & Need For Speed Series. It has one of the best Intro Movies I have ever seen on a Playstation. Fast Loading for the Races so you don't fall asleep waiting. Only Takes 1 Memory Block. Tons and Tons of Different Cars and upgrades for Your Cars to choose from , over 320 Cars so you never drive the Same Car. The Replays are also awesome on this game. Although almost all the Racing Games have this Now Ridge Racers seems to be above them all. The Screen is given shade and a Mixture is added with the Car Lights to make them fade giving it that really perfection look. Great 3d Engine with a great Fps Rate.- Lows -The Game doesn't have enough Tracks. Also the fact that the Cars aren't authentic Cars like In Gran Turismo where you have You Honda Civic's etc really takes away from the games realism. That's about it for what's wrong with the Game.- Overall -This is Definetly a Game every Racing Fan Should have. If someone asked me what was Better , Gran Turismo or Ridge Racer T4. Id have to say they are both incredible games. And I had equal amounts of fun with them. I say if you into Authentic Cars like Corvettes , Honda's etc... Chose Gran Turismo , but if your into Great Tracks with excellent realism and handling take RidgeRacer R4. If you got the Money I would get both. |
