Game Notes

- Basic Game Info -

I'm personally a huge NBA Fan, I also love all sports games. I also have NBA Live 99 for Playstation too so when I heard that NBA In the Zone '99 was soon too be released I read all about it and it caught my attention. One of the Things that attracted me the most to getting this game was the fact that it had a Slam Dunk Competition which I had never seen any NBA game have before. This Game is made by Konami, which also caught my attention since they are the makers of one of the best Video Games in the History of Gaming ' Metal Gear Solid '

- Highs -

Very nicely done Presentation, the game it self comes with nice Movies, Great Interface screens which make the game more attractive all around. Extremely fast loading times, No Waiting for the game to load while you fall asleep like in 'NHL 99'. I really like the way the players move and take their shots , looks realistic, and even better then 'NBA Live 99' has, Rather where in some of the Retrogames where it was just blows of Graphics sliding on the court. The Arena's are also very well designed, and the Crowd really gets into the game with their chants. First Ever Slam Dunk Competition which is allot of fun to watch. 3 point Competition, which isn't by far the first I have ever seen in a NBA game but by far the most fun and has the best setup for it. The Replays are also real good, the game picks the best possible Camera Angle to give it that perfect TV style look. The Game is new so it also features the brand new Official NBA 99 Season Roasters, including Vince Carter of the Toronto Raptors, my personally favorite NBA Player now.

- Lows -

Sometimes it seems as though almost Every Single shot taken goes in, which well isn't totally bad since its lots of action to see so many great baskets, but sometimes it happens way to much and isn't at all realistic which takes the fun away.

- Overall -

- Definatly a great Game, Probably the best Basketball game I have ever tried for any Console. Although it is almost tied with NBA Live 99, I think NBA In The Zone has a better Color pallet, making the game more attractive. If I were to get either one of these and could only pick 1 , I believe I would pick this game.
